Content refresh or new post?

This Q from Quora asks:

How do you decide when to refresh old content instead of writing new pages?

I refresh when I have new, solid info to share on an existing question.

Every niche has foundational questions.

If you do this long enough, you’ve covered all of them.

But knowledge is always expanding, which means those old questions eventually get new data or fresh perspectives.

If that new info helps the reader get a fuller, more accurate picture of what they’re trying to do?

That post gets an update.

However, if the info is still in its early stages (exploratory research or scientific studies that haven't been replicated yet) I’ll give it its own post.

I treat these as "something to watch out for" pieces.

It keeps the foundational guide clean while giving the new, unproven data its own space until we know enough to make it a permanent part of the main answer.
