However, if you're just trying to game search results with bad SEO tactics, you're better off just paying for ads. If your posts don't actually help anyone, or if you don't have real-world experience behind the topic, people will just ask ChatGPT or Claude for the answer instead.
What makes you stand out in 2026 is that you are a human being who has actually done the thing you’re talking about. You can’t replace actual experience.
Successful blogging now requires four things:
- Understanding your sphere of authority.
- Knowing what questions your audience is already asking online.
- Writing helpful posts that actually answer those questions, which relates to your sphere of authority.
- Doing this consistently for an extended period of time.
If you’re starting a blog in 2026, be prepared to see the real results in 2027 and beyond. If you aren't ready for that marathon, spend your time on ads instead.
