Finding it hard to get noticed online?

Why is it so hard to get your webcomics and artwork noticed online?
My theory is that it’s because of the sheer number of content already online.
Most people assume they’re only competing with other webcomics or artists for attention.
Actually, no.
You’re competing with everything else on the internet.
Your audience has a million other things on their minds.
When they’re consuming content, they’re usually multitasking.
They're eating.. Listening to music.. Sitting on a bus.. Scrolling while on the toilet..
Their attention is spread incredibly thin.
You aren't just fighting for a like.
You're fighting for a tiny window of their time.
Because of that, the best way to get noticed is through social media.
If you post consistently enough and long enough, you eventually catch people during those small windows of time.
Someone will eventually notice, then share it, and the circle grows.
Just be prepared for it to take a while.
