How do I come up with creative blog post titles when all you write is book reviews?
Sharing my answer to this Quora question:
"How do I come up with creative blog post titles when all you write is book reviews?"
We’ve all been there.
You finish writing a great review, stare at the "Add Title" box, and... nothing.
You try to be clever, but it just feels forced.
I have a different perspective on this.
I've worked with 100+ brands and written 1000s of posts.
We never aim for creativity.
We aim for clarity.
What gets people to read your posts are those who know this is the right post they were looking for.
Think about it:
- "Creative" title: An Ocean of Pages, Under the Waves of Midnight
- Clear title: A Spoiler-Free Review of 'The Midnight Library'
Your ideal reader has a burning question ("Should I read this book?").
They don't need creativity; they need a signpost.
They need to know, in an instant, that your post answers their question.
Book reviews are the perfect example.
If someone is searching for a review, they need a title that confirms, "Yes, this is the review you're looking for."
You can try to be creative.
But the problem with most creativity is that it loses clarity.
Don't be clever.
Be clear.
