How do I locate people in my niche?
Finding the people you want to serve is actually easier than it's ever been. There’s almost certainly a Subreddit, a Quora Space, or a Twitter hashtag (even TikTok uses hashtags now) dedicated to exactly what you do.
Most platforms have built-in features specifically designed to help you reach your niche:
- Facebook & LinkedIn: Look for specialized Groups.
- YouTube: Check the Community tab of creators in your field.
- Threads: Follow specific topics.
- Substack: Use the feed to find and follow creators in your space.
The first real step, though, is knowing your audience and understanding what they need. Once you know what they're looking for online, you can start to guess where they hang out based on their behavior.
Even if you’re not 100% sure, a quick search into any social media platform’s hashtags and groups will get you there faster than ever.
From there, it’s just a matter of starting meaningful conversations. Ask questions, share what you know, and engage with other people’s posts when you have something valuable to add.
Do that consistently, and you won’t just locate people, you’ll start having deeper conversations with the right people.
