How do you practically measure content success?
It depends on why the piece was created in the first place.
We don't type a single word until we know the end goal.
Are we looking for:
- Newsletter sign-ups?
- Higher average order value?
- Lower cart abandonment?
The goal dictates the metric.
If you don't define the goal upfront, you'll end up writing for one outcome and being measured by another.
Once aligned, we rely on the client’s Google or website dashboard for the truth with a monthly cadence.
Bear in mind that Google usually starts finding new posts within 2-3 months.
With AI search / overviews, it should theoretically speed up that process.
And third-party tools are usually just guessing at best.
We prefer real data.
