How does SEO help bloggers?

How does SEO help bloggers?
SEO is really about making your website visible and understandable to search engines (and AI-powered search) so that when your ideal reader looks for something, you actually show up to help them.
If you want to get in front of your target audience on the larger interwebs, SEO is the bridge that gets you there.
It’s actually Search Intent Optimization
In reality, modern SEO is about intent. It’s you understanding what your reader is actually looking for, having the expertise to talk about it, and then writing a post that solves their problem.
Why? Because search engines are ultimately optimized for humans. If you help the human, the search engine helps you.
The Two Sides of the Coin
Most modern website builders handle the technical visibility stuff by default, but there are two main ways you can push things further:
- On-page SEO: These are the optimizations you do on your own posts to make them clear and relevant.
- Off-page SEO: This is when your brand or posts get referenced by other sites in your niche (or big players like Forbes). When they link back to you, it signals authority. (*cough2 I've been in the off-page SEO scene since 2021)
Both strategies work toward the same goal: making you visible so that when a reader asks a question you're an expert in, the search engine serves you as the answer.
