MCU's Cap is an interesting origin story.
I’m rewatching The First Avenger, and the dynamic between Dr. Erskine and Steve Rogers is underrated.
On one side, you have Dr. Erskine and his science-hulabaloobazinga (to use the technical term).
It’s a world of data, biology and analytics.
But when it comes to the most important variable (the subject) the data fails.
By every statistical metric, Steve Rogers was a reject.
He was physically incapable and lacked the trainable profile the military wanted.
Yet, Erskine followed a different metric: Intuition.
This isn't a post about data vs. intuition.
It’s about the bridge between them.
It’s about knowing when to use the science and when to apply it to the messy reality of human emotions and ideas.
The serum found Steve, but Steve also found the serum.
That’s why I enjoy this story so much.
