Side hustles for students?

Jessica from Quora asks:

What type of side hustle fits a mass communication student?

It depends on your age and what you’re legally allowed to sell.

As a college student, you usually have access to simple odd jobs.

Mowing lawns, cleaning sidewalks, or even painting house numbers on curbs.

But looking inside the college ecosystem is usually better.

I used to outline people’s theses, create project milestones for their groups, and sell my class notes.

Since you're in Mass Comm, you're likely already messing with media and video editing.

You should be offering to edit coursework videos for other students.

It’s a direct use of your skills.

It really comes down to your strengths.

Some of these kids are trying to start small businesses like dropshipping, SMMA, AI Automation agencies or blogging.

The only issue is, those are not side hustles.

They’re small businesses.

You can’t have a side hustle mentality when starting a business.

You need a business mentality.

Businesses take time to build, but a hustle (btw, hate this word) is about immediate output.

I recommend looking at your strengths and seeing if you can do it within your college town first before venturing elsewhere.

Unless of course it's something you're really interested in.

Then by all means, go for it.
