Stop Worrying About Your Blog's Metrics. Focus On This Instead.

I saw a great question on Quora the other day from a young content writer.

"I am 23 and currently working as a content writer for a Travel Agency. I want to grow my second job in another area. Is it possible to start and grow a blogsite (writing about self-study, notion and more) at the moment?"

My answer?

Yes.

Starting a blog while you have a job is a wonderful idea.

The best part isn't the extra income.

It's the lack of urgency.

If you have something that puts food on the table, keep it.

A blog doesn't grow instantly.

Think of it like a plant, not a light switch.

You can't force it to grow by staring at it. You can only control the inputs: good soil, water, and sun.

This lack of pressure is your superpower.

It allows you to learn, make mistakes, and actually improve.

It lets you focus on the process.

So disregard any reason to measure your success based on metrics.

The less you judge your output, the better it is for you long-term.

Instead of checking your views, write down one new question you discovered during your research.

That's a better metric of progress.

You don't have control over views or shares. You only have control over your process.

Focus on that.
