The Three Essential Questions for Starting Your Blog
If you're starting a blog, asking, "What is a 'high volume, low competition' niche?" is the wrong first step.
Those phrases are meaningless in the real world of SEO.
After seven years in this space, I can tell you SEO tools are never 100% accurate.
They are third-party guesses.
Meaning, you could see a keyword with 5K traffic potential, but the Google dashboard shows it actually pulls in 12K traffic.
Basing your effort on those numbers means you’re leaving thousands of readers on the table.
Instead of chasing unreliable metrics, start here:
- First question: What part of my life experience should I blog about?
- Second question: Am I interested enough in this topic to talk about it for at least one year?
- Third question: Am I willing to learn and grow in this skill?
Start with what you know, what you've lived, and what you've experienced.
Then, like practicing the guitar, practice the skill and improve.
