Two Real Lessons from My First Cleared Freelance Invoice
I just hit a huge milestone: my first invoice for a freelance project, totally separate from my day job, finally cleared.
It feels incredible.
Here are the two things that actually got the job done for me:
- Focus on the Problem, Not the Pitch
I have zero sales experience, and that turned out to be my strength.
When I connected with the client, I didn't try to sell anything.
I simply listened to figure out: What is the pain point? Can I actually fix it?
- Your Life Experience Is Your Expertise
If you've been working for a while (I'm 36), you have accumulated specialized knowledge and professional experience that someone else desperately needs.
Don't sell yourself short.
Clients don't have the time or energy to become an expert in your niche.
They just need the solution you already have.
I hope you get your first win soon, and if you already have, here's to more wins today!
