For the longer-term play, it's about building an archive. 1–2 high-quality posts per month is plenty if they are actually useful. If your niche has important statistics scattered all over the web, try grouping them into one convenient post; it makes you a resource for anyone in your industry.

Don’t focus on writing content to sell your product. Focus on what people are actually searching for and offer help within your sphere of authority. Keep your sales pages ready and visible so when they are ready to buy, they know where to go, but don’t aggressively push your product in every post. That raises suspicion; helping builds trust.
