The biggest barrier for me wasn't a lack of ideas, it was mental. It was imposter syndrome.
Specifically, it was the feeling that I wasn't enough of an authority to discuss my own ideas. There is one question that helped me break through this:
"Why do you feel confident creating a course on what you know if your boss asks for it, but feel like a fraud if you do it for yourself?"
The content is the same. Your experience hasn’t changed. But for some reason, when you do it for yourself, it feels twice as hard.
This hit me hard because I’ve been helping websites with content strategy for over 4 years. I realized the only thing stopping me was the feeling that I was inadequate without a boss giving me permission to speak.
Once I realized the block was purely mental, the friction disappeared. I had my blog up and running within two weeks.
